We are very, very busy today! I had lots of ideas for the
blog today but my computer is giving my trouble and have spent all morning
trying to fix it, it is now downloading some packages and thus I have a few
minutes to spare here…
Not much time to look out of the windows, just enough to
catch a glimpse of a very, very, very grey and rainy day with largish white-crested
waves (not large enough for you, though, Jed). Luckily the wind is from the
stern and we ride them without much rolling. Just unlike the HUGE oil tanker we came across
this morning, 250 m long and taking the waves on the prow. Ouch!
Roughing it out |
We had a bit of balance last night, which sent a few things
flying. This was my cue to get rid of the cursed chairs in my cabin, which have
given me a few sleepless nights in storms past. With help from Javier I secured
a few things and expelled several others, the chairs among them. Had to settle
with keeping them in the acoustics lab, rather tan chuck them over the rail
though...
The housemartins (those were the birdies, shame on me) still
flying about, AND ONE HAS COME INTO THE BRIDGE!!! It is ringed, so birders on
watch, please help us to find the ringer! We know we have at least two birder
readers, one active, the other dormant. Juan, who does not talk much but knows
a fair bit on birds, has caught it very deftly.
Unfortunately we all in the bridge at the time of recapture
are past 25 and we have two interpretations of the ring:

Today is being a very special day: the students at Igrexa-Candeán school asked us if we could throw a bottle with a message, and just did this as well:
